Dvd cover design: Jan Marc Quisumbing
I enjoy movies and wanted to organize them in a move efficient way. I found a font that looked "masculine" and focused on action movies starring actors that epitomized "Macho". A photo of the actor's most recent role and a photo from their past roles were used. I lifted their bio information from Wikipedia. I chose the color yellow and black because it would stand out amongst the dvds that I owned. Others in the series are/will include: Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood and Denzel Washington. Created using Photoshop.

Book cover "Leaders, from Marcos to Arroyo"
Book cover design by: Jan Marc Quisumbing
Book is currently available on Amazon. Used public domain images of the two most iconic politicians in the Philippines. The budget for the book was very small and there was no real direction given beyond using a photo of (l.) Ferdinand Marcos and then president Gloria Arroyo. I chose a serif font that looked elegant. I used the color red as the back drop to show the political upheaval that has been going on. Red also in relation to the flag of the Philippines is a connotation for 'war'/unrest.

Concept character art for "Manhattan, Kansas" television show, 2009
Concept art by: Jan Marc Quisumbing
"Manhattan, Kansas" is an in-development television pilot by actor/director Danny Provenzano (The Real Housewives of NJ, http://www.provenzanofilms.com/).
This was done pro-bono for Provenzano as a try out to do art production for the show. The character is named "Frank" and played by actor Frank Vincent. The character is played stereotypical Italian and has a souvenir shop in the fictional town of Manhattan, Kansas. The only souvenir he sells are bobbleheads of the character Billy Bats from Goodfellas who was played by Frank Vincent.
Created using different photos of Frank Vincent to create an image of 'souvenir shop' owner Frank behind the counter of his store. Created using Photoshop.

24"x36" Rutgers College Survival Guide 2001
Poster design: Jan Marc Quisumbing
I was the Publications Coordinator of the New Student Organizaton (NSO) for Rutgers College in 2000/2001. NSO is a volunteer organization that assists with the orientation of incoming first year and transfer students at Rutgers College. The goal was to be able to let students know where they could go for any help they needed while at Rutgers in a non-confrontational way.
Taking a lead from VH-1's "Pop Up Video" series, I staged a college dorm room with 2 student volunteers and indicated with arrows to various objects in the room that correlated to various services at Rutgers College. Each student pair had this poster in their dorm room when they arrived at Rutgers College.
Advertising space was sold to help in the printing of the poster. Created using Photoshop and QuarkXpress.

Concept poster "The Wizard of Oz" 2008
Poster design: Jan Marc Quisumbing
I was tinkering with poster ideas for the Roche Players 2008 production of "The Wizard of Oz". Their standard posters for all their productions were never that engaging. It had a logo, show dates/times and contact information for tickets. I was going for a "coming soon" movie poster look. Something that they could put up around town/at the office to drum up excitement. Several posters were made, this was the best I felt. Cobbled together several images of Kansas and tornadoes and layered them to create this.

Book cover concept design/Book series
Cover design: Jan Marc Quisumbing
Created long before the TMZ craze. Part of a book series that also included: Tim Allen, Christian Slater and O.J. Simpson. Looking back, it's not one of my best designs but I had fun making it. I came up with the tagline"On (insert date) the line between good and bad will be crossed..." and the book series title "Beyond the Fame".

Rutgers College Parent Handbook Vol. 2 /2001
Cover design: Jan Marc Quisumbing
From the OSDCA, 2001 school year. Given to parents of incoming first year and transfer students.
Photo is of "Silent Willie", a Rutgers College landmark. The sunburst is the Rutgers College school emblem. My goal was to create the type of pattern you would see on a traveled passport using the sunbursts. Created using Photoshop elements and QuarkXpress.

Rutgers College Student Guide and Planner (2000-2001)
Cover design: Jan Marc Quisumbing
The Rutgers College Student Guide and Planner, distributed by the Office of Student Development and College Affairs (OSDCA). The guide and planner is given every year to incoming first year and transfer students who affiliate with Rutgers College. Photo is of the signing of the charter that created Rutgers College (Queens College, 1766). The vertical numbers/years to the left of photo are in red (red and black are the school colors) with the current school year being highlighted in white. As this was the start of the next century, I wanted to show a connection between the past and the future. It may seem cliche but the college had a lot of history and it was a way of showing the students that now they were the ones who would be adding to the rich history of the college.
